Golf Academy

The Makena Golf Course offers a complete teaching and instructional program for every level of golfer.  Individual or Group Lessons, as well as video lessons and playing lessons are offered on an appointment basis. 

"I have had the opportunity to be involved in all areas of golf instruction and player development, from beginners, to juniors, to high school & college players and the seasoned golfer who wants to improve his game. In my experience, I have realized that every person has his own wants, needs and desires in becoming a better player, or even just taking up the game as a beginner. It is evident that no two people are alike and that golf swings are as individual as a person's thumbprint. "So, in developing a teaching method I have tried to stick to the basics in my teaching philosophy and practice methods. Making sure that there is a best swing for every golfer, which includes a specific grip, alignment, set-up, and swing pattern which best suits: (A) one's athletic ability (B) one's temperament and (C) one's body type. It is key in the acquisition of skill in learning the game of golf that every player at any skill level have a clear understanding of the basic fundamentals of the golf swing."
